Morphine: Straight to the Heart

The numbness enters me,

it protects me from the damage that can occur,

it is a silent calm that I now see,

I am more coherent now than ever before,

the emotional morphine is a gentle lover,

allowing me to breathe in deeply,

while I sleeping tug at the cover,

that permits me to sleep soundly,

I find it ironic that I feel more now,

more now than ever before.
